About Ian
Hey Miata enthusiasts and others alike, I’m Ian, and I’m the proud owner of a V8 Miata that I built over a period of 5 months and $25,000 into the project. It was a project that I worked side by side while doing my Masters degree. I used the graduation date for my deadline to get this car up and running. I succeeded, by the way. I came close but succeeded anyway.
In case you were wondering, I have a Masters degree in Information Systems Management. I work for a local school district as a senior systems and programming guy. My job responsibilities do not include anything in particular relating to mechanical or grunge work. Nothing, whatsoever.
Why did I want to do this? Well, simple answer: One, the Miata’s a fun car to drive. Its engine was too “chic-y” for my taste at first. My car was begging me for a upgrade. I postponed. In turn, the car decided to do its own version of mutiny against me by causing all kinds of engine problems with the 4-banger.
Okay, if that’s what you want, here’s your upgrade. *Yanks out 4-banger… Plops in a V8* How’s that?
Ever since, the car loves it.
Cheers,
Ian P.
